John Bailes Will Bring Civility to County Commission

RULE 73--Think before you speak; pronounce not imperfectly, nor bring out your words too hastily, but orderly and distinctly. (from Washington's book on civility)
John Bailes Will Bring Civility To The County Commission

I am not usually involved in political campaigns, but when I heard that John Bailes was running for county commissioner of District 8, I had to write this letter of support.
John has espoused that county leadership is only effective if the county commissioners can conduct their business in an environment of civility. A commissioner's primary responsibility is to provide leadership and make decisions that will move Hamilton County forward in a democratic fashion.
How? This way: Generate decisions together, compromise when your ideas are not adopted, and realize that autocratic action is not a part of the democratic ideal or of our community.
A county commissioner is hardly ever elected to destroy the county
government or the public school system. Participation is the key, not
destruction.
It is my belief that John Bailes will restore civility to County Commission meetings. His leadership style embodies the democratic ideals and his intentions are for the well-being of citizens of District 8.
This is the reason that I am supporting John Bailes for county commissioner, and I hope you will do the same. Please vote for him during early voting (July 14-29) or on Aug. 3.
